A staple of the UK Hip Hop and Bass music scene, Sparkz has held his own on the microphone for over a decade, bringing a slick, quick flow and forward-thinking production (as heard on his Angle EPs). His first official single since announcing his signing to Fliptrix’s High Focus Records, self-produced ‘Overload’ is Sparkz at his best. 

The Manchester rapper and producer brings an effortlessly steady, on-point flow and ice-cold lyricism while drawing sonic inspiration from his impressive back catalogue. An accomplished MC in multiple genres, including Boom Bap and D&B, and a work rate to match, it’s sick to see Sparkz give a masterclass and deservedly show off a bit. 

The new single also acts as an introduction to Sparkz’s new music and thriving solo career on High Focus. As well as releasing music with his respected collectives LEVELZ and Voodoo Black, as well as several other collaborations and hosting duties, Sparkz has also been a long-time friend of the UK Hip Hop label and features on several Pitch 92 releases. As looking forward to hearing what’s to come.
